Since the implementation of the Working at Heights regulations in 2005, all companies that employ people who may work at heights, have taken the safety of their staff to an even higher level than before. However, each member of the workforce, who may be working at heights, should also receive training in how to effectively and safely perform their duties. This course is designed as a safe introduction to working at heights and the common hazards and risks associated with such work.
There are no prerequisites to join on this course.
Course Aims:
To provide the students with an awareness of the safety issues, and best practices of, working at heights.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course the students will be able to do the following:
- Discuss the various hazards and statistics from working at heights
- Discuss the legal responsibilities involved in working at heights
- Define working at height and associated terms
- Discuss the time limits and precautions to take when working at heights
