Automated External Defibrillation Training

Course Aims:

To provide the students with the knowledge and training in how to use a Automated External Defibrillator

Course objectives

By the end of the training session the students will be equipped with the following:

• Discuss and demonstrate CPR
• Discuss and demonstrate the recovery position
• Discuss how to deal with a heart attack
• Discuss how to use the A E D
• Demonstrate how to operate the A E D
• Discuss how to hand over the patient to the medics/ambulance crew

Course syllabus:

CPR Revision, recovery position, heart attack, getting to now the A E D, operating the A E D, patient hand over to the medics/ambulance crew.

Course duration:

• 4 hours

Assessment:

• Practical exam
