
HSC - First Aid at work; re-fresher Training
Course Aims:
To provide the students with the knowledge and skills to administer First Aid in the Workplace by refreshing their existing FAW qualification.
Course objectives
By the end of the training session the students will be equipped with the following:
- Discuss how to deal with an Emergency
- Discuss and demonstrate personal hygiene Use of face shields / gloves
- Discuss primary survey
- Discuss and demonstrate unconsciousness
- Discuss secondary survey
- Discuss and demonstrate CPR Adults, children, babies
- Discuss and demonstrate choking Adults, children, babies
- Discuss shock / anaphylaxis
- Discuss and demonstrate bleeding Types of wounds
- Discuss burns and scalds
- Discuss stroke
- Discuss asthma / hyperventilation
- Discuss heart attack / angina
- Discuss sprains / strains
- Discuss diabetes / seizures / epilepsy
- Discuss fractures and dislocations
- Discuss different types head injuries
- Discuss how to fill in an accident form / RIDDOR
- Discuss crushing injuries
- Discuss and demonstrate bandaging First Aid Kits
Course syllabus:
Dealing with a Emergency, personal hygiene, primary survey, unconsciousness, secondary survey, CPR, choking, shock, bleeding, burns and scalds, stroke, asthma, hyperventilation, heart attack, angina, sprains & strains, diabetes, seizure, epilepsy, fractures and dislocations, head injuries, accident reporting RIDDOR, crush injuries, bandaging First AID kit.
