Course Aims:

To provide students with the advanced knowledge and skills in Health & Safety in the Workplace

Course objectives

By the end of the training session the students will be equipped with the following:

• Discuss the fundamentals of Health & Safety law
• Discuss criminal law
• Discuss the principles of accident prevention
• Discuss safety monitoring and risk assessment
• Discuss ergonomics
• Discuss fire & electrical safety
• Discuss hazardous substances
• Discuss manual handling
• Discuss personal protective clothing – PPE
• Discuss noise at work
• Discuss stress at work
• Discuss display screen equipment
• Discuss construction, contracting and maintenance operations

Course syllabus:

The fundamentals of Health & Safety law, criminal law, the principles of accident prevention, safety monitoring and risk assessment, ergonomics, fire & electrical safety, hazardous substances, manual handling, personal protective clothing – PPE, noise at work, stress at work, display screen equipment, construction, contracting and maintenance operations

Course duration:

• 5 Days

Assessment:

• 2 written assessments

• 2 ½ hour exam – 1 month after course

Certificate

• Level 4 - Advance Health & Safety

Certificate duration:

• Lifelong certificate, with yearly refresher courses recommended
