To provide students with an introduction to pressure sores, why they are important to monitor, and how they affect the day to day care of the client.

Course objectives

By the end of the training session the students will be equipped with the following knowledge:

• What are pressure sores are.
• How they are caused.
• How they can be prevented.
• When the client needs hospital care.

Definition of pressure sores, causes of pressure sores, management techniques, prevention measures, what hospital care provides.
